About The GMDDA

The Greater Merseyside Digital Development Agency (GMDDA) is committed to ensuring that the region’s people and businesses benefit from the new opportunities created by the digital revolution. In February 2007 the GMDDA published it’s new strategy Digital Opportunities in the Liverpool City Region.

GMDDA Structure 2007-06-21

The GMDDA is is guided by a strategic board made up of representatives of the Public, Private, Community and Voluntary sectors. Their role is to help identify digital development priorities for the region, seek projects to address them and to work to secure the resources to do so. The structure of the GMDDA and how it fits into the regional setup can be seen in the diagram: (click for full size)
The GMDDA is not an incorporated body and does not undertake projects directly itself. Rather, it works with appropriate local partners to make things happen. This mostly operates through our two ‘work streams‘ which are Transforming Businesses and Transforming Communities
